I swear it never ends with the idiots running our country. Now they want to punish France for apposing the invation of Iraq. Last I checked France was a member of ther UN and the Security Council. They are a democratic country. They voted as they are granted the right to do so under UN rules. The U.S. lost. But we said screw that vote and invaded anyhow. Now we plan to punish them for voting their way. Does this sound at all like the thugs in "On the Waterfront". For those unfamiliar its a movie about mob control and intimidation of union members. When someone stood up against them or voted the "wrong" way, they got wacked. So now the government of the United States is in the habit of wacking those who vote thr wrong way. What is next.$BlogItemBody$>

Well its Easter. I never got Easter. I recall as a kid- since Easter was 4 months after Christmas I figured thats how long Jesus lived, 4 months. I mean sure he got big, but he was the son of god. He could grow fast.
And the gifts at Christmas- there is a pretense for that right. The wise men etc. But how the hell did candy attach itself to easter? And why does it not have a fixed date? Thanksgiving is bad enough being on the 3rd Thursday of November. But at least its always in November. Easter in April, in March. And why is it GOOD Friday. I know we should be happy that he died for our sins. But I know the first thing I would ask Jesus if I met him- "How do you feel about 'Good' friday.
One last thing that Staci noticed. Why do they play the 10 commandments on Easter? The 10 commandments is a passover story. No jesus! Could it be a subtle dig by those Jews who supposedly control Hollywood?$BlogItemBody$>

So last night Staci, Frank, and I went out to celebrate their 30/60 birthday. There was no cake or candles or singing. It was more a fun night out. First we started at a Casino- Casino del Sol to be specific. These places are weird. People droping cash like its no big deal. They don't even look like they are having fun. Oh and many of the slots don't even have handles. Just buttons. We stayed there a bit, but ended up at the Buffet- the oldest Tucson bar. Did some shots, ate some pickled eggs, and drank beer. It was all around a good night. I will return to the Buffet, but I think I am done with Casinos.$BlogItemBody$>

I thought I would show some solidarity with our French friends- so I made french toast yesterday. But what made it reall great is I used Texas Toast for the bread- and a recipe from Joseph P. Kennedy III.

Went to an excellent concert last night that git me nostalgic. You see it was a concert of the Academy of Ancient Music or AAM for short. I know of this group from my high school years. Yes I know it weird to know of a Baroque orchestra in High School- but I had a weird friend. Anyhow- what was a bit sad is the group is now conducted by Andrew Manze. His name is not familiar to me. I know of Christopher Hogwood (his predecessor), Trevor Pinock, Simon Standige, Reinhard Goebel, and Monica Hugget. But it seems these people are beginning to retire. Could it be I have out lived the careers of Baroque performers? Seems bizarre. Manze himself is leaving AAM to take over for Trevor at the English Concert.
Anyhow all this made me miss a good spring night drive in an unmarked black sedan with some Bach blaring out the window.$BlogItemBody$>

So I had Jury Duty today. It was rather painless. They are much more efficient than I have heard of in the past. I was post poned a week. Then checkonline that I was to show up today. I was there at 9- called to a courtroom by 10 and done by 12:30. I didn't make it on a Jury- but still those that did will be done by noon tommorrow. Not so bad at all.
One thing I noticed is Jury Duty is NOT a randome sample of the population. Lots of weird folk in there.$BlogItemBody$>

Well Kris, jo, and Paige have left after a nice visit. The excitement of the trip was Jo getting a tatoo. She just decided one day she wanted one and 2 days later her body has been permanently marked. Whats with these women and their tatoos? I just don't know.
Check out pictures of their trip in the personal section.
Our next visitor arrives today. Staci's dad will be in a town a while- riding his bike around Arizona. $BlogItemBody$>

Here is the promised 2nd war commentary. The furst didn't get much responce- perhaps it was the Star Trek analogy.
If you lived in Washington, D.C. and the us was at war with a nation so powerful (think of war of the worlds movie) you know you have absolutely no chance to win. Thousands of your soldiers are dying as compared to only a few of the "aliens". Everywhere you look in your neighborhood there are destroyed and bombed out buildings. Each night more munitions are dropped on your city than has ever been dropped before. You are
confused by what "weapons of mass destruction" means. These weapons that are being used against you seem destructive and massive enough!!! Your father, brother, husband, son is a soldier in the army that is protecting Washington, protecting your mother, sister, wife, daughter. He is also protecting a regime that is hated by most of the world, one that sells weapons to other countries such as Israel and uses its influence to try and control the economies of other countries. He has at his disposal one weapon that may slow down the enemy, may at least give a small hope to succeed. Trouble is this weapon is against th rules of modern warfare. Of course these rules were made by the same people who are attacking you. Anyway the question is...Would you want him to use this weapon???
